German shares lose 1.25 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 162.49 points, or 1.25 percent, to close at 12,861.49 points.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.07 percent, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp, which lost 2.37 percent and 2.36 percent respectively.

German airlines Lufthansa, European health care company Fresenius SE and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas were the top three winners, rising 1.93 percent, 0.26 percent and 0.12 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 421.48 million euros (500.92 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
