CHICAGO, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Ford Motor on Friday reported a total delivery of 210,771 vehicles in U.S. market for November, seeing a 6.7 percent increase over the same period of 2016.
Meanwhile, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recorded sales declines of 2.9 percent and 4 percent respectively in the United States.
Ford F-Series saw its best November results since 2001 with 72,769 pickups sold, according to the auto maker's November report. Ford van and SUV sales also posted gains.
"Strong customer demand for Motor Trend's new Truck of the Year drove F-Series sales past the 70,000 mark last month, a November number achieved just three other times in history," said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president in charge of U.S. Market.
"In addition, Ford brand SUVs continued their outstanding performance with sales up 13 percent for their best November since 2000," he added.
General Motors reported 245,387 deliveries in the U.S. last month, a 2.9 percent drop year on year.
Its Cadillac sales recorded a 12.8 percent decline in November, with GMC suffering a 5.8 percent drop.
Also on Friday, FCA U.S. reported sales of 154,919 units for last month, a 4 percent decrease compared with sales in November 2016.
Despite its retail sales seeing 2 percent increase, a 25 percent year-over-year decline in fleet sales dragged down FCA's overall performance in the U.S. market. But the company said it was in line with the strategy to reduce sales to the daily rental segment.
The Sales of FCA's all-new Jeep Compass were up 34 percent, which was its best-ever November record. Enditem
