NEW DELHI -- India's economic growth rate recovered to 6.3 percent in the July-September quarter, or the second quarter of the financial year, from a three-year low of 5.7 percent in the April-June quarter, the country's federal Central Statistics Office (CSO) said on Thursday.

"The economic activities which registered growth of over 6.0 percent in Q2 of 2017-18 over Q2 of 2016-17 are manufacturing, electricity, gas, water supply and other utility services, and trade, hotels, transport and communication and services related to broadcasting," said a statement issued by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. HONG KONG -- Chief Executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said on Thursday that she has asked the police to look into a sexual abuse complaint raised by a female athlete.

TOKYO -- Nuclear plant operators in Japan announced on Thursday that they will delay the restart of four reactors to confirm whether the reactors used products affected by Kobe Steel Ltd.'s data falsification scandal.

The four reactors are the No. 3 and No. 4 units at Oi plant in Fukui Prefecture operated by Kansai Electric Power Co., and the No. 3 and No. 4 units at the Genkai plant in Saga Prefecture operated by Kyushu Electric Power Co. (Japan-Kobe Steel-Nuclear Reactor)

HANOI -- Ratraco under the Vietnam Railway Corporation on Thursday launched the first container train to China from Vietnam's capital Hanoi.
