TUNIS, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian troops killed one terrorist and wounded another in the ongoing military operation in west-central region, the Tunisian Ministry of Defense said Wednesday.

The operation in the heights of Kasserine governorate killed Yahya Argoubi, explosive specialist and member of an extremist religious movement in Jendouba governorate in northwestern Tunisia, said the ministry's spokesman Colonel Belhassen Oueslati.

The wounded terrorist is still on the loose, he added, saying that his blood sample is taken and being examined for his identity.

So far, units of the Tunisian army have been able to seize a Kalashnikov weapon, a landmine ready to explode in addition to a quantity of ammunition.

The last two weeks have been marked by the appearance of a number of armed suspects, who entrenched in the heights of this region and attacked homes of citizens to obtain supplies by force.

According to the spokesperson of the ministry of defense, this operation is a part of a careful security strategy which will protect civilians, their property, and also eradicate this scourge. Enditem
