China urges cooperation among SCO countries to eradicate cybercrime

ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- People's Procuratorate of China is ready to work together with procuratorial institutions of other SCO member countries to strengthen cooperation and expand the achievements in punishing cybercrime, a Chinese official said here on Wednesday.

Cao Jianming, the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China made the remarks while delivering a keynote speech at the 15th Meeting of Prosecutor Generals of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states.

The SCO countries have similar geography and long history of mutual exchanges, so they constitute a community of common destiny that shares rises and falls, he said.

Cao said China will strengthen cooperation with other counterparts among the SCO countries in order to eradicate both symptoms and root cause of cybercrime, to maintain prosperity and stability in the region and promote creation of the community of common destiny.

Cao also signed the "Report of the 15th Meeting of Prosecutor Generals of the SCO member states." Enditem
