BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping told his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, in a telephone conversation late Wednesday that denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula, maintaining international nuclear-nonproliferation regime, and preserving peace and stability in Northeast Asia are China's unswerving goal.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli security forces demolished Wednesday an illegally-built carpentry workshop in a Jewish outpost in the West Bank, as dozens of settlers were rallying the site to protest the demolition.

Army soldiers and paramilitary Border Police officers began the eviction early on Wednesday morning in the outpost of Netiv Ha'avot, south of Jerusalem. By noon, a military statement said the demolition was completed successfully.(Israel-West Bank-Demolition)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi ordered the army's chief of staff on Wednesday to restore security and stability in the restive part of the Sinai Peninsula within three months.

LOS ANGELES -- U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced Tuesday that its next mission to Mars in 2020 will boast a souped-up rover vehicle to seek signs of ancient microbial life on the inhospitable red planet.
