KUWAIT CITY, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A Gulf Popular Heritage Festival will kick off on Friday in Kuwait, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported Wednesday.

The annual festival will be held at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village and several heritage activities will take place for three months.

Sheikh Sabah Fahad Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, the festival's deputy supervisor and head of competitions committee, said the event is seeing growing numbers of visitors each year, adding that the village is now fully prepared for the opening on Friday.

Visitors of the festival will enjoy new expansions and developments in the village, he said. These include new buildings for entertainment, tourism and cultural events, as well an old Kuwaiti town with all details, big theater and new rest areas, he noted.

The festival will also include competitions for different types of camels, horses, birds and others, focusing on speed, color and beauty, he added. Enditem
