About 10 advanced warships and support ships to be introduced into Russia' s Pacific Fleet in 2018

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia' s Pacific Fleet will receive approximately 10 advanced-warships and support-ships in 2018, Pacific Fleet Spokesman Nikolay Voskresensky said on Tuesday.
Among these ships in this batch, Gromky and Gremyashchy advanced corvettes are included, which already have crew, will become part of the fleet's surface force.
In this initial delivery, Project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines will also be delivered. They are purpose-built specifically for the Pacific Fleet. These submarines have improved characteristics and are capable of carrying Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles.
In addition, the fleet will also receive new anti-sabotage boats and a few support ships, including a modern tugboat, according to Voskresensky.
The Russian Pacific Fleet is the part of the Russian Navy, which is based in the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. Enditem
