ISTANBUL -- Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on Sunday that his country is expecting the United States to end its partnership with the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its military wing, the People's Protection Units (YPG).

"Since the very beginning, we have said that it is wrong for the U.S. to partner with PKK's cousin PYD and YPG in the fight against Daesh (Islamic State) terrorist group," Yildirim told the press in Istanbul prior to his departure for Britain. (Turkey-U.S.-Kurdish Groups)

ANKARA -- Turkey announced on Sunday that Monday would be a day of national mourning for the deadly terror attack in Egypt's Sinai, which killed more than 300 people.

SANAA -- A ship carrying 5,500 tons of flour docked in Yemen's Red Sea port of Hodeidah on Sunday, after 20-day military blockade from Saudi-led coalition, a security official at the port said.

"It's the first commercial ship docked in the port after 20 days of blockade," Houthi official Khalid Jomaey told Xinhua by phone. (Yemen-flour)

TRIPOLI -- United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has begun implementing a maintenance program for damaged schools in the Libyan city of Sirte, according to a spokesman of the city's Municipal Council on Sunday.

"The UN mission, through UN Development Program (UNDP) and within the agreement signed with the Municipal Council, has started maintenance of damaged educational institutions in the city, which was caused by the military operations against the Islamic State (IS) last year," Mohammed Al-Emil told Xinhua.
