Brazilian giants Flamengo were eliminated from the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday after a 2-1 away defeat to San Lorenzo in their final group match.

The Rio de Janeiro outfit opened the scoring at the Nuevo Gasometro with a 14th-minute strike from Rodinei and they maintained the lead until Marcos Angeleri equalized 15 minutes from time.

With momentum on their side, the hosts rallied, hitting the lead when Fernando Belluschi rifled in a low shot deep into stoppage time.

The result left Flamengo third in Group D with nine points while San Lorenzo claimed top spot, just one point above Atletico Paranaense, who won 3-2 against Universidad Catolica of Chile.

In other Copa Libertadores matches on Wednesday, Independiente Santa Fe won 2-0 at Sporting Cristal, Santos drew 1-1 with the Strongest in La Paz while Chapecoense overcame Lanus 2-1. Endit
