A photo exhibition "Silk Road: A New Outlook" opened on Tuesday at Sofia University in Bulgarian capital.

The month-long event features 60 striking photographs depicting different topics such as Chinese economy, culture and lifestyle.

Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Zhang Haizhou said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition is very interesting, and it will allow students to see landscapes along the Silk Road.

Zhang said he expected that more and more students would be interested in the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, as well as in the development of bilateral cooperation between China and Bulgaria.

Associate Prof. Teodor Sedlarski, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, said that the exhibition would contribute to the development of relations between Bulgaria and China within the Belt and Road Initiative.

Sedlarski, who was Minister of Economy in the caretaker government from January to early May, also expressed hope that the exhibition would be the beginning of a series of seminars and discussions together with the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria. Endit
