Russian Pacific Fleet conducts anti-submarine drills

The anti-submarine ships of Russia's Pacific Fleet conducted drills, as crews practiced searching and destroying of imaginary submarine enemies, said a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday.

Vladimir Matveev, spokesman for the ministry's Eastern Military District, said "during the drills, the crews of small anti-submarine ships MPK-107 and MPK-82 using torpedo armament practiced searching, tracking and destroying the submarine of an imaginary enemy, which was played by a submarine of the Submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet."

Apart from destroying the imaginary enemy, the crews also put mines, conducted artillery firing at sea and air targets, and practiced maneuvers.

The Russian Pacific Fleet is the part of the Russian Navy, which is based in the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. Endi
