UN says Sudan makes progress in human rights record

Xinhua, May 15, 2017 Adjust font size:

A UN official said on Monday that Sudan has made progress in its human rights record.

The comment was made by Aristide Nononsi, the United Nations Independent Expert on the Situation of Human Rights in Sudan, after his talks with officials of Sudan's National Human Rights Commission in Khartoum.

He also expressed readiness to provide technical support for the commission to perform its function.

Nononsi arrived in Khartoum on Friday in his third visit to Sudan to assess the country's efforts to fulfill its commitments to upholding human rights. Endit
