Singapore stocks close 0.27 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 8.92 points or 0.27 percent to close at 3,264.21.

A total of 2.78 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.40 billion Singapore dollars (1.00 billion U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 271 to 202.

The STI index lost 15.82 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 3,255.29 on May 12. Endit
