Share of modern military hardware at Russian Land Force reaches 42 percent: official

The share of modern weapons and military hardware of the Russian Land Force has reached 42 percent, Mikhail Popov, deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council told the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper published on Monday.

"The Land Force units are receiving new types of weapons and military hardware, which now comprise 42 percent of their equipment. Receipt of new types of weapons and military hardware will increase the combat capabilities of the Land Force units," Popov said. ( The share of modern weapon systems and military hardware accounted for 58.3 percent of the Russian Armed Forces in late 2016, said Popov.

Popov added that a total of 36 military units of unmanned aviation, equipped with about 2,000 modern unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), had been produced in the Russian Armed Forces. Endi
