One dead, two injured in wildfire near Corinth canal: Greek Fire Brigade By Maria Spiliopoulou

The charred body of an unidentified person was found on Sunday evening in a forested area at the outskirts of the town of Aghi Theodori near the Corinth Canal, 65 kilometers west of Athens, after a wildfire, according to the Greek Fire Brigade.

Two other persons, an elderly man and his wife, were injured and transferred to a local hospital, said the Fire Brigade.

The victim's identity remains unknown, while an elderly woman was reported missing during the fire by her relatives.

The wildfire which was put under control on Sunday evening broke earlier in the afternoon and briefly reached residential zones.

Damages have been reported to at least one house, according to authorities. The causes of the fire have not yet been determined. Endit
