Nepal held local body elections on Sunday as a major step to implement its landmark constitution adopted in 2015.

The one-day elections conducted from 7:00 a.m to 5: p.m. local time in 34 districts of province 3, 4 and 6 of the Himalayan country, with 283 local municipalities voted for candidates for seven positions, according to the Election Commission. (Nepal-Elections)

GERDIZ, Afghanistan -- At least eight Taliban militants have been killed and several others injured as clash erupted between supporters of two Taliban leaders in eastern Afghanistan's Paktia province, provincial police chief Toriali Abdiani said Sunday.

Confirming the incident, Zabihullah Majahid who claims to speak for Taliban main faction in contact with media insisted that six loyalists of Mullah Rasoul had been killed and four others injured.(Afghanistan-Clash)

NEW DELHI -- At least 12 students have committed suicide in the central Indian state of Madhya over examination results since Friday, a senior police official said Sunday.

More than 70 students have taken their lives in Kota, a town in the western state of Rajasthan, over the past five years for failing to pass the extremely competitive admission exams for medical and engineering colleges.(India-Suicide) Enditem
