The following are news highlights in Zambia's major outlets on Sunday.

-- The Zambian government said it has no capacity to venture into nuclear energy as an alternative source of power.

Minister of Energy David Mabumba said in as much as nuclear energy was a good alternative of power generation in diversifying the energy sector, it was an intricate venture which required a lot of time and a number of procedures. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government said the country's economy remained stable in the first quarter of 2017.

Minister of Finance Felix Mutation said the stability in the economy was characterized by exchange rate and reduction in inflation, among others. (Zambia Daily Mail)
