Xinhua, May 12, 2017 Adjust font size:

Eighteen people were killed while four others injured in a road accident early Friday in Burkina Faso, a government release said.

The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. Friday as a public transport car and a vehicle transporting goods collided within Tambi park near the southern city of Po, about 100 km south of the capital Ouagadougou, according to the release.

Road traffic accidents claim the lives of at least 13 people and leave hundreds people injured every day in Burkina Faso, according to health authorities.

In the capital Ouagadougou alone, police recorded 1,700 road accidents, or at least 20 accidents per day, over the first quarter of 2017. Endit
