Representatives of the Libyan High Council of Reconciliation on Thursday paid a visit to the eastern city of Derna and met with officials there.

Mohammed Al-Housh, the head of the delegation, told a local TV channel the the visit aims to "pave the way for the national reconciliation."

"All concerned military, political and social parties of Derna, will be present in the upcoming meetings and we hope that they will come into agreement." Al-Housh revealed.

Derna is a coastal city located in eastern Libya. It is the home of the Derna Shura Council, a coalition of extremist militants who oppose General Khalifa Haftar and the eastern-based authorities.
