Manchester United reach Europa League final

Xinhua, May 12, 2017 Adjust font size:

Manchester United survived a late scare to beat Spanish side Celta Vigo 2-1 on aggregate to reach the Europa League final at Old Trafford on Thursday.

United, who won 1-0 away in the first leg, took control as Marouane Fellaini headed home Marcus Rashford's cross in the 17th minute.

But Celta socred the equalizer in the 85th minute through Facundo Roncaglia.

United defender Eric Bailly and Roncaglia were both sent off after a mass brawl. The visitors almost scored a winner six minutes into the injury time but former Manchester City striker John Guidetti failed to wrap up his foot around the ball.

Jose Mourihno's side will fight for the title against Dutch giants Ajax, who beat Lyon 5-4 on aggregate in the other semifinal.

The final will be held in Stockholm on May 24. Endit
