Slovenian police capture 26 illegal migrants

Slovenian police have captured 26 illegal migrants in the southwest of the country in the past 24 hours, reported local media.

Five Afghans on foot were stopped in the area of Crni Kal Tuesday afternoon, Slovenian Press Agency (STA) quoted police in the Koper region.

One of them was provided with medical aid due to a pain in his leg, whereupon they were all taken to the Ljubljana asylum center, according to the police.

Another 15 Afghan nationals, also on foot, were apprehended by police on Wednesday at Kastelec in Koper region.

Five nationals of Kosovo were apprehended by Slovenian police in the area of Ilirska Bistrica after crossing into the country illegally from Croatia by cars.

And the last of the 26 illegal migrants was an Iranian who was apprehended Tuesday night in the village of Podgorje.

A total of 270 illegal migrants have been apprehended so far this year in the Koper police area, said the STA report. Endite
