Xinhua, May 10, 2017 Adjust font size:

Four people were killed in an accident in central Georgia's Tkibuli mine, the local Interpress News Agency reported Wednesday.

Interpress said the bodies of the four miners have been recovered earlier on Wednesday after hours of searching.

The cause of the accident was reportedly a sudden collapse of the elevator that was carrying the four miners.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili released a statement also on Wednesday, offering condolences to the families of the miners.

The accident happened in the very early morning of Wednesday. No other casualties have been reported so far. Endi
