Handelsblatt:

On Tuesday, German Daimler AG waived a request in the U.S. for the approval of diesel models this year. Daimler pointed to the increase effort that such applications would bring in the U.S., as a result of the diesel scandal at German Volkswagen.

According to the German Cologne Institute for Economic Research (IW), the incomes of older people have rose significantly more strongly over the last three decades then those of younger ones. The income of the elderly grew by 25 per cent, the younger one by only 10 per cent. However, the risk of poverty for retired people grows.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) experts call Germany for more investments. Also, they advice Germany to do more for "inclusive growth", which means a broad participation of all citizens in the economic success of the country, the official IMF report on Germany will be released on May 15.
