Putin congratulates Moon on election as South Korean president

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday congratulated Moon Jae-in on his election as South Korean president.

According to the Kremlin, Putin said in a congratulatory message that Russia highly appreciated its constructive relations with South Korea, and the Russian leader also reaffirmed his readiness to work with South Korea to further enhance cooperation.

Russia is also willing to coordinate with South Korea in addressing global issues, Putin said.

Moon won a landslide victory in a special presidential election on Tuesday and was sworn in on Wednesday. Endi
