Zimbabwe's Mugabe off to Singapore for medical checkup

Xinhua, May 9, 2017 Adjust font size:

President Robert Mugabe left Zimbabwe on Monday for a routine medical checkup in Singapore, state media reported Tuesday.

The Herald newspaper reported that Mugabe would be back in Harare in time for the burial of retired Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku at the National Heroes Acre on Saturday.

Mugabe, 93, has made occasional trips to the Asian country over the years on medical trips and had eye cataracts removed at a Singaporean facility. Endit
