Xinhua, May 8, 2017 Adjust font size:

Visiting Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Monday hailed the high-level China-Senegal relations and called for deepening cooperation in areas including agriculture and industrial parks.

Li made the remarks while meeting Senegalese Prime Minister Mohammed Dionne in Dakar, capital of Senegal.

Calling Senegal an important partner of China in Africa, Li said China is very confident about the future of the cooperation between the two countries.

The vice president said China will continue to encourage its companies and financial institutions to participate in Senegal's infrastructure construction.

China is also willing to deepen cooperation with Senegal on human resources, agriculture and the development of industrial parks, Li said.

Li noted that 2017 is a crucial year to implement the outcomes of the Johannesburg summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, including the 10 major cooperation plans to accelerate Africa's industrialization and agricultural modernization.

China will uphold the policy of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith and the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit toward Africa while supporting the continent's independent and sustainable development, he added.

On his part, Dionne said Senegal is willing to enhance cooperation with China in areas including transport infrastructure, telecommunications, water conservancy, sports and public health.

He also said Senegal welcomes more Chinese investors and hopes to draw successful experience from China to boost its own development. Endit
