Historical success of BiH at Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

For the first time in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), students showed better than average results at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO), held from May 2 to 7 in Macedonia, local media reported on Monday.

Out of 21 countries from Europe, all six representatives from BiH won medals at the 34th BMO.

BiH competitors won one silver and five bronze medals, an historical result and placing BiH fifth in mathematics at the European contest.

First place went to a team from Bulgaria, second place to Serbia, third to Romania and fourth to Greece.

The BMO is an international contest for high school students from European countries, measuring their knowledge in mathematics. The first BMO was held in Athens, Greece in 1984. Endi
