Top Chinese political advisor Yu Zhengsheng said on Sunday that China is willing to discuss ideas and ways of cooperation with Belgium to boost win-win development.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks when meeting with Speaker of the Belgian Senate Christine Defraigne in Beijing.

Yu commended the long-term friendship between China and Belgium, saying the development of bilateral relations has entered a fast lane in recent years.

The two countries decided to upgrade their relations to an all-round partnership of friendship and cooperation in 2014 during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Belgium, said Yu.

Yu said China attaches great importance to Belgium's special influence in the European Union, and is ready to work with Belgium to strengthen communication and coordination, and jointly promote the sound and in-depth development of China-Europe ties.

China appreciates Belgium's willingness to participate in the Belt and Road construction and is ready to discuss with the Belgian side the ideas and ways of cooperation to promote win-win development, he said.

Yu also briefed Defraigne the nature, task and work of the CPPCC, expressing willingness of enhancing communication and exchanges with the Belgian Senate.

Defraigne appreciates China's achievements in development, and expressed willingness to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the CPPCC, and jointly contribute to the friendship between the two countries. Endi
