BiH exports up 17.4 pct in Q1

Exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) amounted to 2.489 billion convertible marks (1.398 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of this year, registering a year-on-year increase of 17.4 percent, official data revealed on Saturday.

According to data from BiH's Agency for Statistics, imports in the same period reached 3.976 billion convertible marks, up 12.7 percent compared with the same period of last year.

The European Union (EU) is the most important trade partner for BiH.

Exports to EU countries amounted to 1.817 billion convertible marks in the first quarter of this year, up 13.4 percent year on year, while imports from the EU amounted to 2.457 billion convertible marks, up 12.8 percent year on year. (1 U.S. dollar=1.78 convertible mark) Endite
