Former senior legislator dies at age 91

Buhe, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, died at the age of 91 in Beijing at 3:28 p.m. on Friday, according to a statement from the central authorities.

He was appointed vice chairman of the 8th NPC Standing Committee in 1993 and was reappointed for the position in 1998.

Buhe, who was mongolian, was extolled in the statement as an excellent Party member, a time-tested and loyal communist soldier, a proletarian revolutionary and an outstanding leader of ethnic work. Endi
