The Indian stock market closed higher Thursday.
Equity benchmarks continued to hold morning gains, aided by banking & financials, FMCG and healthcare stocks.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 30,126.21, 231.41 points or 0.77 percent up from its previous close at 29,894.80.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index Thursday moved up 8.93 points, or 0.57 percent to close at 1,573.05 points.
Some 7.15 billion shares worth 39.05 billion baht (about 1.13 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 22.07 points, or 0.39 percent, to a level of 5,669.44 on Thursday.
Some 356,043 transaction were booked, involving 21.5 billion copies of share with total value of 11.7 trillion rupiah (about 878.3 million U.S. dollars).
Gainers vs losers 139 to 190 while 92 remained stagnant.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Thursday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,758.67 down 13.84 points or 0.78 percent, and the Emas was at 12,561.65 down 108.35 points or 0.86 percent.
There were 185 gainers, 824 losers and 294 counters traded unchanged.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 89.52 points on Thursday, down 0.3 points, or 0.33 percent, against the previous closing session.
A total of over 52.111 million shares worth some 545.497 billion Vietnamese dong (some 24.14 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Thursday, an increase of 6.53 percent in volume and 6.74 percent in value against the previous closing session.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 12.25 points, or 0.05 percent, to 24,683.88 points on Thursday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,530.93 and 24,683.88.
Turnover totaled 79.67 billion Hong Kong dollars (10.24 billion U.S. dollars).

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Tuesday down 0.16 percent compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 1.65 points to reach 1,023.80 points after closing.
A total of 35,662,900 shares worth about 263.7 billion Lao kip (nearly 3,224 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

SEOUL -- South Korean stocks touched a new high Thursday as expectations emerged for the new government ahead of a presidential by-election next week.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) advanced 21.57 points, or 0.97 percent, to settle at 2,241.24. Trading volume stood at 258.35 million shares worth 4.45 trillion won (3.93 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market closed lower on Thursday, after profit results from two of the major Australian banks fell below expectations.
At 4:52 p.m. (AEST), the S&P/ASX200 index was down 15.90 points or 0.27 percent, sitting at 5,876.40. The wider All Ordinaries index also fell 15.40 points or 0.26 percent, finishing at 5,904.50.
