Yiwu, Muscatine knot "Friendship City" tie

Xinhua, May 3, 2017 Adjust font size:

Chinese city Yiwu has led other Chinese cities in knotting the "Friendship City" tie with Muscatine in U.S. midwest state of Iowa.

A ceremony was held on Sunday in Muscatine and the representatives of the two cities signed a letter of intent on the establishment of the tie.

Located in East China's Zhejiang Province, Yiwu is well-known for its small commodity fair. With the establishment of the tie, enterprises from both cities have already worked out plans to visit each other to seek investment and business opportunities.

Yiwu's friendship with Muscatine can trace back to 2016. In October 2016, a "U.S. Window - Muscatine Center" opened in Yiwu, giving local residents a glimpse of the life in this U.S. midwest small town on the Mississippi river. Endit
