Hong Kong stocks closed up 81.00 points, or 0.33 percent, to 24,696.13 points on Tuesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 24,577.33 and 24,773.80. Turnover totaled 69.66 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 8.95 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Tuesday, as a rise in tech-shares overnight on Wall Street set a positive tone early on, with a weaker yen versus the U.S. dollar lifting exporters and supporting the broader market.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 35.67 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 3,211.11.
A total of 2.39 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.49 billion Singapore dollars (1.07 billion U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 280 to 208.
The STI index gained 4.08 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 3,175.44 on April 28.

MUMBAI -- The Indian market closed flat Tuesday after witnessing a volatile trading day with the Sensex rising by 150 points before consolidating.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 29.921.18, 2.78 points or 0.01 percent up compared to its previous close at 29,918.40.

SYDNEY -- The Australian market has ended the day lower, slightly down with the banking sector disappointing the index.
At the close of trade, the S&P/ASX 200 index was down 6.10 points or 0.10 percent at 5,950.40, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 5.00 points or 0.08 at 5,971.40.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended higher on Tuesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 14.23 points, or 0.65 percent, to settle at 2,219.67.
Trading volume stood at 290 million shares worth 4.72 trillion won (4.2 billion U.S. dollars).

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Tuesday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,778.47, up 10.41 points or 0.59 percent, and the Emas was at 12,710.30, up 78.78 points or 0.62 percent.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index on Tuesday moved down 0.20 points or 0.14 percent to close at 1,564.12 points.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) Broad Index closed Sunday at 5,521 points, up 45.83 points from Thursday's finish.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed lower by 9.49 points or 0.17 percent to a level of 5,675.80 on Tuesday.
