Vasco da Gama close to signing Brazil under-23 midfielder

Xinhua, May 2, 2017 Adjust font size:

Vasco da Gama are close to signing Brazil under-23 midfielder Bruno Paulista from Sporting Lisbon, according to media reports.

The 21-year-old has made just four first-team appearances for the Portuguese club since his 2015 move from Brazilian top flight outfit Bahia.

Brazilian newspaper Gazetta Esportiva said officials from Sporting and Vasco have been negotiating a transfer since January.

Bruno was a part of the Brazil under-23 team that claimed bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

Sporting Lisbon are currently third in Portugal's Primeira Liga standings, eight points behind leaders Benfica with three matches left in the season. Endit
