U.S. stocks closed mixed on Monday, the first trading day of the month, as investors mainly digested the newly-released data and awaited for another big week of earnings.

The Dow lost 0.13 percent, and the S&P 500 gained 0.17 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 0.73 percent. Endit
