The following are top news items in major Kenyan media outlets on Monday.

-- Opposition National Super Alliance (Nasa) proposed positions of premier cabinet secretary and his two deputies in a power-sharing agreement deposited with the Registrar of Political parties last week has caused a storm, with the ruling Jubilee party warning that Kenyans might be forced to spend billions on constitutional amendments. However, NASA lawyers who drafted the deal argued that the new positions are in line with the constitution and therefore would not need a lengthy process of changing the law to create them. -- Kenyan workers on Sunday revived their calls for a 22 percent basic-pay rise, asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to make the announcement at the Labor Day celebrations Monday. Kenyatta is expected to preside over the event. (The Standard)
