Xinhua, May 1, 2017 Adjust font size:

Rafael Nadal regained his dominance on his favorite clay court with his 10th Barcelona Open title here on Sunday.

The Spaniard defeated fourth seed Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-1 in the final to lift the trophy, just one week after his 10th victory at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion met some resistance in the beginning from Thiem, who surprised world No. 1 Andy Murray in Saturday's semifinals.

But Nadal took control in the second set with watertight defences and wrapped up the match in just over 90 minutes. Enditem
