International beach volleyball tournament opens in Vietnam

An international women's beach volleyball tournament kicked off on Friday in Vietnam's southern Can Tho city, with the participation of 20 teams from 11 countries and regions.

The teams are from Australia, China, Hong Kong of China, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Vanuatu and Vietnam. China, Japan, Thailand and Australia are candidates for the tournament's championship.

Vietnam is striving to advance into the tournament's top five, said Pham Van Luan, vice director of the Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Endit
