Third victim of maritime accident found in Croatia

Xinhua, April 26, 2017 Adjust font size:

A third victim of a maritime accident nearby Dubrovnik, the coastal city of Croatia, was found but four others were still missing, rescuers said on Wednesday.

Strong winds and high waves blocked the search for survivors, they added.

A rubber boat carrying nine people collided with port authority's ship, which was on a medical emergency, in the Kolocep bay near Dubrovnik. The incident killed two people, injured two and left five others missing, according to local media reports.

Doctors at a local hospital said one of the injured suffered a broken collarbone while the other had minor injuries.

Passengers on the boat were employees of a restaurant on the nearby island of Sipan, reports said, adding the owner of the restaurant operated the boat.

According to a coastguard captain, the rubber boat was not equipped with navigation lights. Endit
