Heads of Chinese, Italian media meet on cooperation

Xinhua, April 25, 2017 Adjust font size:

President of Xinhua News Agency Cai Mingzhao met here with CEO of ANSA news agency Giuseppe Cerbone on Monday over further cooperation between the largest news media of China and Italy.

During their meeting, Cai said the peoples of China and Italy have a long history of friendship, and have further developed it in recent years thanks to the promotion of the two countries.

Italian Premier Paolo Gentiloni is expected to attend a high-level forum on China's Belt and Road Initiative to be held in May in Beijing, indicating a new high of China-Italy relations, he said.

As the most important news agencies in China and Italy, Xinhua and ANSA should play a greater role in promoting ties between the two countries, Cai said.

For his part, Cerbone said ANSA is ready to develop cooperation with Xinhua in the new media sector, such as photos and videos service on the basis of long-term partnership.

Cai left Rome late on Monday. During his stay in Italy, he also met with Giuseppe Marra, president of Adnkronos, a well-know news media in Italy, and Paolo Panerai, CEO of Italian media group Class Editori. Endi
