Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park begins construction in 2017

Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, which is an important project under the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, will start its construction this year.

The park, located in the Baodi District of Tianjin Municipality, is just 70 kilometers west of downtown Beijing, 70 kilometers south of downtown Tianjin, and 75 kilometers east of downtown Tangshan, a city in Hebei Province. According to the plan, the park will undertake the transformation of the scientific research findings made by Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in the fields of the internet, bio-engineering, medical equipment and so on. It will be able to accommodate enterprises in 2019.

A Tianjin-based company will be responsible for the construction and operation of the park, which will span 145,000 square kilometers. The park will focus on industrial sectors such as the internet of energy, new materials, advanced equipment manufacturing as well as science and technology services.

The park is expected to attract an investment of 40 billion yuan, create tax revenue of 57.7 billion yuan and bring about 117,000 jobs and 58,000 permanent residents.
