Xinhua, April 23, 2017 Adjust font size:

Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) was officially opened Sunday, said the Maritime and Port Authority.

The event gathers the international maritime community in Singapore for a week of conferences, dialogues and exhibitions until April 28.

Senior Minister of State Josephine Teo who opened the event said SMW 2017 is a platform where challenges in the global maritime industry can be turned into opportunities.

"We believe the knowledge exchange, debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities will help the industry navigate through the challenging times and prepare them for the future," said Teo.

MPA said more than 20,000 maritime professionals and 30,000 members of the public are expected to attend the events. Enditem
