Hotspur midfielder Winks to start Mini London Marathon

Xinhua, April 22, 2017 Adjust font size:

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and England U-21 international Harry Winks will be the official starter of the Mini London Marathon on Sunday, organizers said here on Saturday.

The Mini London Marathon is a series of 10 races over the last three miles of the London Marathon course involving more than 1,500 of Britain's best 11- to 17-year-old runners and wheelchair racers.

Wicks will set them on their way from Old Billingsgate at 8:40am before greeting the winners at the Finish Line in The Mall where he will be joined by long jumper and The Voice contestant Jazmin Sawyers to present their medals and prizes.

The 21-year-old Winks made his Premier League debut for Tottenham Hotspur in a home tie against Liverpool last August. He has represented England at all levels from under 17 to under 21, but suffered an ankle ligament injury playing for Spurs on April 4. Enditem
