Ding leads fellow Chinese Liang 6-2 at snooker worlds

World number four Ding Junhui took a commanding 7-2 lead against compatriot Liang Wenbo in the second round of the World Snooker Championship here on Friday.

Ding, last year's beaten finalist, charged out of the blocks in the first session with a century run of 111 in the opening frame. He compiled another big break of 113 in the fourth frame to lead 3-1 at the interval.

The 12-time ranking winner made further runs of 53, 62 and 70 to look sure to make the last eight.

Elsewhere, Kyren Wilson has maintained a two frame advantage over former world champion Stuart Bingham to lead 9-7.
