Chinese club favorite of volleyball tournament in Vietnam

A Fujian team with two Olympic gold medalists is the favorite of the upcoming international women's volleyball tournament in Vietnam's southern Tay Ninh province.

China's No.1 libero player Lin Li, born in 1992, and blocker Xu Yunlin helped the Chinese squad win at World Grand Prix 2016 and Olympic Rio.

This is the first time Olympic winners will have competed at a volleyball tournament in Vietnam, the tournament's organizers said on Thursday.

The tournament, called VTV Binh Dien Cup 2017, will take place from April 22-30, with the participation of eight teams.

Teams from Kazakhstan, China. the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Thailand will compete here.

The tournament's prizes total one billion Vietnamese dong (44,800 U.S. dollars). Endit
