Zambia, Ghana seal agreement to cement cooperation

Zambia and Ghana on Wednesday signed a joint permanent commission for cooperation agreement meant to cement cooperation ties between the two countries.

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba signed on behalf of Zambia while visiting Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sherley Botchwey signed on behalf of her country after a meeting.

The Zambian minister said the signing of the agreement was the start of the signing of more agreements to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The two countries, he said, will soon sign another agreement to waive visa requirements in an effort to enhance free movement of people by breaking down barriers.

For her part, the Ghanaian minister said her country was keen to boost relations with Zambia.

She said the planned signing of an agreement on visa waiver will enhance cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.

She further revealed that President Nana Akuffo-Ado will visit Zambia in July this year for the official opening of this year's Zambia International Trade Fair.

The two countries, she added, were planning to exploit opportunities across various sectors that will economically benefit them. Endit
