Urgent: Britain's House of Commons approves snap general election

The British House of Commons on Wednesday approved Prime Minister Theresa May's call for an early general election on June 8.

The lawmakers approved the snap election with 522 votes in favor and 13 against.

May made a U-turn on the issue Tuesday as she called for an early general election to get better mandate for the coming Brexit talks. Endit
