Chinese shares close lower Wednesday

Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.81 percent at 3,170.69 points.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.61 percent lower at 10,348.41 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, ended 0.15 percent lower at 1,845.38 points. Endi
