Singapore stocks close 0.02 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.76 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 3,137.54.

A total of 2.61 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (747.36 million U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 262 to 224.

The STI index lost 30.94 points, or 0.98 percent, to close at 3,138.30 on Monday. Endit
